Historical Barn Restoration
In 1994 Heiner and Eva Kammann purchased a property just outside of Lyndhurst known as Gleanna Lea. Locals may remember a time when Grace & Micheal Kelly owned this property and put great efforts to environmentalism and wildlife conservation on the large 500 acre property. The Kelly's were particularly known for their work with native birds. The Kammanns moved to the property with an eye not only to nature but history and culture as well. They have been renewing and restoring the old and often precarious buildings found here. Their vision of renewal for these historic buildings is to utilize original technique and materials. Natural and recycled materials are used whenever possible.
The Lyndhurst Art & Culture Tour is your chance to get a glimpse at this stunning property and the restorations taking form. Ever wonder what lies beyond the dragon gates? The current restoration project is a large barn which is being lovingly and authentically restored. Stone masons and a carpenter, all who use historic techniques and materials, are working on the project.
